Dr Rubel Das works at Nippon Koei Co. Ltd and collaborates as an associate researcher at IRIDeS, Tohoku University. He holds a MSC and a PhD. degree, both from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. His specialization and interests lie in the fields of disaster logistics, relief allocation, and transportation engineering. He has served as researcher in several major projects, such as transportation planning for the decreasing trend of Japanese population.
Dr. Das' expertise is focused on disaster logistics; where resource allocation for disaster relief and transportation optimization issues need to be considered. His research interests are in transport logistics, freight transport network, humanitarian logistics and climate change. Currently he is actively researching relief distribution after large scale disasters, social equity in relief distribution and agent based modeling. 
Within our project, Dr. Das is in charge of developing models of disaster relief support. After damage estimation models define the urban impact situation, the models developed by Dr. Das analyze immediate relief needs.
